My name is Olivier Baudoin, and I've been a workshop manager for 10 years. I've been working at the Paul Champs workshop for 30 years now.
Can you tell us about your role?
My role is to supervise all workshop activities. This includes managing varnish, organising transport, allocating projects to be carried out, and overall monitoring of operations. In a way, I'm the conductor of the orchestra, ensuring that all the tasks within the workshop are properly coordinated.

What tools and machinery do you use on a daily basis?
We mainly use typical joinery tools, such as band saws, planers, routers and sanders. We also have a flatbed saw, a machining centre, an edgebander, and a dedicated cabinetmaking area equipped with a press and a cutter.
What qualities do you need to be a good workshop manager?
To be a good workshop manager, it's essential to have a family spirit, because we work with a large team. You also need to be proactive, intuitive and courageous. In short, you have to be ready to take on challenges on a daily basis.
How does the workshop adapt to the specific requirements of customised projects?
The workshop's ability to adapt to tailor-made projects is based on the varied skills of our team members, from apprentices to the most experienced. It is this diversity of expertise, together with our responsiveness, that enables us to respond effectively to the requirements of each project.
Thank you Olivier for your commitment to your work at the workshop!
