Immersion with Cédric, project manager at Agencement Paul Champs

Behind the scenes of a successful fitting project, there is often a key figure who ensures consistency, quality and successful completion: the project manager. At Agencement Paul Champs, this role is embodied by Cédric Aballéa. As head of the design department, he gives us an insight into his day-to-day work, which involves rigour, passion and technical challenges.

A profession at the heart of layout projects

The role of the project manager at Paul Champs is fundamental: he is the link between the customer, the in-house teams and the various people involved in the project. "My job is to support the customer and the project, from initial contact right through to handover," explains Cédric.

As a technician, coordinator and guarantor of customer satisfaction, the project manager follows each stage of the project with precision: from the study of requirements to the approval of plans, including site supervision, budget management and meeting deadlines. It's a versatile job, combining technical and interpersonal skills.

Technical preparation and coordination

Each project begins with an analysis and design phase. Cédric organises meetings with customers and in-house teams to define requirements, refine plans and propose optimised technical solutions. "We present them with a lot of material: plans, perspectives, videos, etc. We have to give the customer something to work with so that they can visualise their project from a global perspective," he explains.

Customer interface and site monitoring

Once the project has started, the project manager maintains a constant link with the customer. They ensure that the work is progressing in line with the commitments made, and anticipate any adjustments that may need to be made. This role of mediator is essential for maintaining trust and guaranteeing the expected quality.

Budget management and meeting deadlines

Managing a project also means controlling its resources. Cédric makes sure that each stage of the project stays within the initial budget and the agreed schedule. This rigour is essential if the promise made to the customer is to be kept to the end.

The essential qualities of the profession

A good project manager must above all be rigorous, a good listener and able to adapt to a variety of projects. Technical skills are important, but it's the ability to coordinate teams and understand customer expectations that makes the difference. "What we look for at Paul Champs is quality of work, with respect for both customers and employees.
